Light Troubleshooting

LIGHTING

Light troubleshooting

Use this guide when the light will not turn on, flickers, will not dim, or changes color unexpectedly.

Safety: Turn off power at the wall switch and circuit breaker before opening the canopy, touching wiring, or removing electrical parts. Use a licensed electrician when electrical work is required.

QUICK CHECK

Follow these steps in order

01
Confirm the light command.
Press the light button once, then test brightness controls. Some models change color temperature after a quick wall-power cycle.
02
Replace remote batteries.
Weak batteries can cause delayed or inconsistent light commands.
03
Test other fan functions.
Record whether fan speed and direction still respond; this helps separate light-only faults from receiver or power faults.
04
Power off before checking plugs.
Have a qualified person confirm the light-board connector is fully seated and undamaged.
05
Check for heat or moisture damage.
Stop using the light if you see discoloration, melted insulation, water intrusion, or a burning smell.
06
Match the replacement board exactly.
Use the model code, connector shape, voltage/power marking and board diameter. Do not choose only by appearance.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

Next step

If fan functions work normally but the light does not, the likely fault area is the light board, its connector, or the light output from the receiver. Flicker at every brightness setting should be recorded on video before replacing parts.
