Remote Control Pairing

REMOTE CONTROL

Pair or restore the remote

Pairing methods vary by receiver version. Match the remote and receiver labels before starting.

Safety: Turn off power at the wall switch and circuit breaker before opening the canopy, touching wiring, or removing electrical parts. Use a licensed electrician when electrical work is required.

QUICK CHECK

Follow these steps in order

01
Confirm compatibility.
Compare the fan model, remote model, receiver model, and old/new version. Similar-looking remotes may use different frequencies.
02
Install fresh batteries.
Confirm polarity and remove any battery isolation tab.
03
Switch off nearby fans.
During pairing, keep power off to other remote-controlled fans in the same room to avoid accidental pairing.
04
Power-cycle the target fan.
Turn power off for at least 10 seconds, then restore it.
05
Use the labeled pairing control.
Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button marked SET, LEARN, or PAIR for about 5–10 seconds. If your remote has no labeled pairing control, stop and use the model-specific manual.
06
Confirm the response.
Wait for a beep or light flash, then test fan speed, direction, light and timer functions. Repeat once if needed.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

Next step

A remote that lights up but never controls the fan may be unpaired or incompatible. If only some buttons work, photograph the remote and receiver labels. Older DIP-switch systems must use matching switch positions with power off.
